WHY ISTANBUL

Istanbul holds a special place with us and we are so excited to celebrate with you in our favorite city! Much like our relationship, Istanbul embodies a blend of cultures. The city uniquely straddles both Europe and Asia and is the perfect blend of modern meets tradition. We also love the balance of city-life and nature the city has to offer.

TRAVEL TO ISTANBUL

We recommend flying to Istanbul a few days before the wedding events and flying out the following weekend (4th of July weekend!). To accommodate work schedules, a suggested timeline could be:

Saturday, June 28: Fly in to Istanbul
June 30-July 2: Wedding events
July 3-6: Holiday weekend to travel to another destination!

We encourage our guests to make a vacation out of the trip and suggest traveling to surrounding cities! Cappadocia and Bodrum are great destinations to travel in Turkey. While Greece and Italy are just a few hours away!

FAQ

Will the events be outdoors?

The welcome party and the wedding day will be outdoors. All events will take place in the evening time. The weather in Istanbul in the evening during this time is low to mid 70s (20s Celsius).

Are children welcomed?

Parents may decide to bring their small children to Istanbul and coordinate care for them, but we kindly request small children (babies and toddlers) do not attend the wedding events.

Is a visa required to travel to Turkey?

For citizens of USA, Canada or Iran, a visa is not required. To check whether your country requires a visa, you may check and apply online at evisa.gov.tr or you may reach out to our travel coordinator at zeynep@tayistanbul.com
